    Stargirl on DC Universe

First episode of the new Stargirl series dropped at midnight, and I watched it soon after. The opening 5 minute sequence with the classic JSA in action was worth the price of admission alone. I like the cast, I like the tone, and the set up/premise cleaves pretty close to the initial comic by Johns and Moder (Johns has a pretty strong hand in the TV series too, I am not a huge fan of his but the stuff he did in this era-Stars and Stripe and JSA were the books of his I have enjoyed the most). The first episode was fun, and I am interested to see how the rest of the season plays out. Next episode drops in a week.

We're going to watch this tonight. The actress playing Stargirl has Type 1 Diabetes like my daughter, and you can see her Omnipod glucose monitor on her leg in the trailer. So it's kind of cool for my daughter to have a super hero on TV she can relate to!

Looking forward to watching it shortly. I haven't really gone back to the CW since Crisis. I have every intention of catching back up on Flash, but the others I probably won't get back to unless I somehow become bedridden for a couple of years.

It was a fun pilot. Though it is now completely clear that this Earth-2 is not at all the same world as the Pre-Crisis Earth-2. So it's a little sad thinking of how E2 Laurel has lost her world and so many characters from the previous E2 will never be seen again.

The Arrowverse original Earth 2 got moved to Earth 3 where it should have been to start with.

Just watched the pilot on DCU and really enjoyed it. Perhaps the most unabashedly "all-in" show DC has done yet. So much DC lore crammed into one episode, but it didn't get in the way of setting the series up. My bunch is in!

Caught it with one of my kids last night. Definitely a lot to take in. Looking at some of the promos for future episodes I get a little bit of a Disney Descendants vibe.

I have become really spoiled by binge watching. Waiting on next episodes seems a lot more painful now than when it was the only option.

^I don't mind, it's nice to have something to look forward to each week. Binging sometimes turns me off, because I feel like I'm investing too much time at once.

Watching the debut on CW with my wife and am noticing they have trimmed a lot of scenes out form the version that aired on the DCU-lots of scenes developing character and establishing relationships between Courtney and other characters. The DCU version ran 53+ minutes without commercials, so I am guessing they cut stuff to make room for commercials to fit in the hour block on broadcast TV-from what I can see we lost a scene of Courtney talking with Pat in the car on the way to school, the scene of the two cheerleaders trying to recruit Courtney which made the lunchroom scene lose context, and the scene of Courtney in detention, missing the bus and having to walk home and seeing the town.

Not sure what else will be missing for the rest of the hour.

Thanks for the heads up on what was cut.

I am hoping that we will get to see more flashbacks with the original JSA and I cannot wait to see the new JSA/Infinity Inc. build up.

I'm definitely going to stick to the DCU versions then. Plus, no commercials. Thanks for the heads up.

Thumbs up at our house. As hard as Batwoman has been to sit through, this was a joy.
