Pick YOUR Mount Rushmore of Action Figures

Which FOUR action figures would be on YOUR Mount Rushmore?

If I had to pick mine would be:

1 - Talking Adventure Team GI Joe Commander (without GI Joe, there is no action figure)

    2 - Action Jackson - first 8 inch Mego

3 - Six million Dollar Man

    4 - Evel Knievel

I figure AJ represents ALL Mego figures since he was first.

Would love to hear YOUR Mount Rushmore of action figures.

    Great idea for a thread!

1, Original painted head GI Joe. The George Washington of action figures
    2. Mego Hulk (Biggest seller, though my preference is Spidey)
    3. Darth Vader (Kenner, 3 3/4)
    4. He-Man (I have no love for him, but he is iconic and gets us into the 80's)

      1. Hasbro GI Joe (flocked): Not only the was GI Joe the original action figure in the toy market, he was the first action figure I got really into. In my opinion, the flocked look is iconic.

      2. Mego Batman: Mego pioneered the superhero action figure. While I probably like Spider-Man better, nothing is more recognizably Mego (or emblematic of their '70s aesthetic) than that Batman head.

      3. Kenner Stormtrooper: Star Wars was obviously massive for toys, and while I could go in a lot of different ways here, I am going to give a shout out to the O.G. army builder. It is an underrated classic.

      4. Mattel He-Man: Master of the Universe were novel in every way. They were new IP, they were a new body style, and a new look. They were the king of marketing toys through their cartoon... but before I ever saw the He-Man cartoon, I saw He-Man on the pegs and had to have him.

Lol, you posted this while I was typing... but seems like we were pretty much thinking the same thing!

My personal Mount Rushmore of Action Figures...

          1. Baron Karza-the fusion of Japanese toys with American sensibilities, the big bad of the Micronauts line and all those firing missiles and fits, plus the magnetic interchangeability made this one a favorite of mine

          2. 12 inch flocked GI Joe from the Adventure team era-this was the first line of toys I ever got into and it is an iconic part of the toy landscape

          3. Mego Conan-Megos were my second love (after GI Joe) and while there are other Megos that are more iconic, nothing represented the realm of wild possibilities of the line than the Hyborian Age warrior with his black cropped (and rooted) mane, his axe and sword, and his snarling visage from a line that featured everything from super-heroes to space explorers, apes and even southern moonshiners.

          4. Boba Fett from the Kenner 3 3/4 Star Wars line; this line was a game changer and the Boba Fett figure is not only iconic, but the initial proof of purchase and mail-away nature of the figure also captures another aspect of the action figure millieu (and the extreme focus on the missile firing prototypes in the high-end collector world represents another).

I had thought about including something from the Super Powers line of a toy Biz figure to represent the 80s and 90s for me, but my heart is in the 70s when it comes to action figures and that is reflected in my choices.

            1. G.I. Joe
            2. Big Jim
            3. Steve Austin a.k.a. The Six Million Dollar Man
            4. Luke Skywalker to represent the Star Wars line (I picked him because I feel he was the main character, and his image was used on a lot of packaging for their play sets.

Yup, remarkably close. And I like the flocked bearded GI Joe better too, but I went with the original version for being the first version

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

This is just my personal list

                      Mego Superman
                      Mego Spider-Man
                      Darth Vader
                      Luke Skywalker

I’d throw in a Smurf but I don’t think they’re quite action figures

I spaced Smurfs otherwise I would have thrown in Smurfette.
