We were raised to forage through cabinets until mom came home from work. We stayed in to watch way too much TV. We know how to use tech but we also know how to live without it. Gen X was bred for this!

Growing up in a house with many older sibs I had no idea what it even was like to be alone.
I consider myself kinda lucky because Gen-X'ers were the first generation that didn't HAVE to go out and work before they were 18 … Yes, child labor laws are 100-ish years old but that didn't stop a lot of poor Boomers making their kids work mostly under the table.
As far as watching too much TV, I was always outside -- lived near a forest and was always building huts and stuff
