Just curious. It seems like such an obvious choice.

Boy it really does. I had the board game. My buddy got it for me for my birthday and I had zero interest, when I had the Alien, Battlestar Galactica, and Star Wars board games (which were all essentially the same).

Bruce was the biggest rock star in America in '76.

I think a MEGO figure might have been very popular.

I also wonder if MEGO ever considered making Harlem Globetrotter figures?

That too seems like an obvious choice.

Having had lived through the mid 70's at Mego consumer age I don't think it would have been a big seller.

Back then the sport was FOOTBALL FOOTBALL FOOTBALL !!!

Mego would have done well with a line of 8" popular players

Wasn’t a Bruce Jenner sculpt made of his character on CHiPs? I don’t think it made it to production.
Expectation is the death of discovery.

Officer McLeish (played by Jenner) was supposed to replace Ponch in a "coy and Vance" way but the Dana Green head sculpt never went to tooling.

You are right... But they'd have to compete with the NFL Action Teammates. I didn't even like football, but my buddy's Terry Bradshaw figure was pretty cool.

By the time MEGO had the figure on the market would there have been enough interest in it?
