Vampire (1979) TV Movie (Richard Lynch)

We've been discussing the greatness of actor Richard Lynch in the Pod Stallions FB group, so our movie for a Sunday afternoon is the 1979 TV movie "Vampire". Three guesses what Lynch is playing?

My first exposure to Mr. Lynch was in an episode of Charlie's Angels called "Angels on the Street."
The Angels go undercover as hookers, and Mr. Lynch played the creepy pimp. A camp classic!

Good to see this again, I would have enjoyed it as a series.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

Yeah, his guest starring roles in Galactica and Buck Rogers were particularly memorable for me. His portrayals of sinister and villainous characters were always exemplary.

Richard Lynch was always the best villains. Even as awful as Deathsport is throughout, Mr. Lynch once again is intense and threatening -- his "because it pleases me" speech belongs in a much better movie.

Vampire is a scary movie because you DON’T see any blood, gore or raw sex.

Richard was at his most evil in this flick; yet handsome, charming and well mannered. He didn’t have much of a back story, except for being of Germanic royalty from 800 years before. He was also ruthless, ambitious and had absolutely NO qualms about threatening a young child in Arizona.

I was extremely disappointed that it was never picked up for a series, but supernatural and science fiction TV shows didn’t get a lot of respect in the late 70’s.

Look what happened to the other show he was in , “The Phoenix “. It had an interesting plot, yet it kept getting pre-empted, and jerked around all over the time slot. No wonder it ended after six or seven episodes.

I might be wrong, but didn’t Richard Lynch play sort of a vampire creep in a Starsky and Hutch episode?

Neat! I don't think I've ever seen this. I'm going to check it out.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

^Yeah, it's new to me too. I eat this stuff up. I honestly didn't know Richard Lynch by name, but I remember him as "that guy", in a good way. Always a welcome face, especially as a heavy. I remember The Phoenix too, with Kahn's right-hand man!

Love watching him in everything he did but my favorite by far was The Phoenix.

I watched Richard Lynch on videocassette in a behind-the-scenes featurette for The Puppet Master and was hooked ever since, even though I watched him before in science-fiction.

I made sure to watch his Highlander episode.

And Richard Lynch's TNG character was in my deck for Star Trek CCG, I had to have that card for sure.
