Mego connection to Robin 80th Anniversary comic

My friend (and sometimes editor) Dan Greenfield shares the finished cover to the "70s Variant" of DC's upcoming Robin 80th Anniversary Special comic, and there's a direct tie to Mego's Boy Wonder.

I read that article the other day. I will buy the book just for the cover art.

Neat. Nice to see superheroes that are not grimacing too.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Oh my God! That is so awesome! I would love to see a Robin like that rendered in Mego 8" format... Except for the smile he is THE Robin!

              Thanks for that Chris!

Robin also looks like the 12 inch Mego with that hair...

Mego-era Catwoman gets some love on the 70s cover of HER 80th Anniversary comic as well:

While the Mego connection is undeniable, Mego just lifted the typeface from the comic logo at that time.
Looking for Green Arrow accessories, Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver, and Japanese Popy Megos (Battle Cossack and France, Battle of the Planets, Kamen Rider, Ultraman) and World Heroes figures

^Yeah, I know, it's stated in the article too. But its still nice to see it. And Catwoman's look WAS in the comics, but the Mego figure kind of cemented that look as more than just a passing phase.
