I just came over to the museum to post that too.
He was a huge influence on me. I'm pretty sure my first exposure was through Something Weird VHS copies a local horror themed video store had. I was blown away. There was a DVD box set a few years after that and I quickly scooped it up. It's been a prized possession ever since.
He was such a unique man and Coffin Joe such an original creation.Mortui Vivos Docent

Met him in the early 1990s, I'd read about him in Psychotronic but never seen his films. He was so warm and kind!
Anyway I got hooked many years ago when a local horror channel played two of his films back to back, he is wonderful.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

My friend Ray Castile turned me on to his films many years ago. I watched as many as I could.
I made Ray a tribute custom of Coffin Joe after he appeared in the movie "Embodiment of Evil". Ray then guilted me into making one for Mojica as well.
THis is very sad news.
My favorite CJ film is "Exorcismo Negro"
