HELP! How to remove bad paint job?

I have honestly never ran up on this issue before and not sure what to do.

I finished painting a rubber BBP head and the paint was really old and it looked kind of crackly. I had hoped the spray matte finish would smooth it out. It did not.

So I bought new fresh paint and slapped on 3 more coats. Now not only does it look uneven, but some definition is lost in the ears, etc

I just want to start over.

What's the best way to remove a bad paint job from a rubber head?

    Thanks!
    BB

Acetone, q-tips and a cotton ball...
    Do not soak!

I'd start with a hot water and soap bath, and scrub a bit with a soft toothbrush. If you used thick acrylic paint it will likely flake free from the vinyl.

I'd try this first too. Get it super hot and pinch the head as you do it, and I bet the paint will slide off. Keep it soapy

You might try Easy Off oven cleaner. I’ve used it for various paint removal projects and it shouldn’t harm the plastic.

Thanks all! Kind of embarrassed that I didn’t know what to do but honestly never came upon this issue before.

I’ll try it over the weekend. Much appreciated friends.

beat me to it. I just find that it doesn't like to take off black paint as far as enamels go.

Update on this.....worked perfectly. Boiled water in the kettle. Poured in a bowl with a little dish detergent. Scrubbed with toothbrush. DONE and thank you all.

^^ Supercool! Solvents are great, but I love when the simple treatments work and they are healthier for you too.
