Planet of the Apes: From Logical to Nonsense

Logical Toy: Planet of the Apes Remote Control Horse, apes all rode horses and this makes perfect sense.

Nonsense Toy: Planet of the Apes Zoom Cycle, the Ape civilization never had anything motorized and this looks an awful lot like a repackaged Batman toy. Please don't send me comments about the Animated show having cars, that doesn't count and you know it.

Oddly enough, I totally would have wanted the zoom cycle more as a kid....

That's interesting, I didn't know there was a POTA Zoom Cycle. It may be nonsense but the packaging is lovely! That's another thing to add to my ever expanding AHI wants list. Thanks for the post Brian.

The horses are cool, but the motorcycles?

This was from the planned, but never shot, TV episode. Since the show never really spiked, there was a planed crossover where Gilligan messes up an attempt to get off the island and accidentally launches the Professor into the future where he ends up, you guessed it, on the Planet of the Apes. There, he combines his intellect with Burke and Virdon's to make a gas combustion engine. Well, Urko ends up getting his hands on it and let's just say hilarity ensues. Ahh, good times.

You didn't see the movie where Zaius jumped the fried chicken stand on his mortorcylce, and then jumped a shark on water skis?

I think the same toy company genuiuses that came up with this one are still working today, coming up with sure-fire winners like the Hulk on a moped.

Oh c'mon, why wouldn't that count?

Those motorcycle toys are just so damn silly that they instantly become cool.

Maybe the scenes of motorcyle riding Gorilla's were cut from "Conquest" and "Battle"

I liked the animated series. But I always wondered how a vintage WWII plane survived that far into the future.
