    Italian for Stretch Monster

The word "Stretch" I assume doesn't translate well in Italy. Coincidently "Mister Monstro" was also my wrestling name that one, magical summer in Tijuana....

I never get tired of this kid and his Larry Talbot-like underbite.

Has Rudy been around here lately? He could probably answer the translation question. OR maybe ask Berto or Tom to ask their grandmother? Maybe they felt it more important to keep the "monster" portion of the moniker and simply matched that.

Not having enough of a life led me to try and translate "stretch" and while there are many meanings (stretch of time, a stretch of road, stretch a rope between trees, etc.) I do not speak Italian but I thought one of these transitive verbs would be the closest- allargare, tendere, or tirare (although I associate the last with "pulling" as you would a door.)

Somebody piped in on the FB page and said I was correct that "Stretch" doesn't translate well into Italian. So Harbert changed their names to "Mister Muscles" and "Mister Monster".

Crazy sense memory moment. I was looking at those images again, and even though I haven't held a Stretch Monster in nearly 40 years (when mine bit the dust), I can still feel the texture of his scaly skin against that rubbery material he was made of.

Looks like a young Moe Howard practicing for his later Stooge film shorts.
