    Simpsons Toy Town

This spread from 1980 has a lot of familiar faces and fond memories despite me only owning one thing from it as a kid.

Ohhh, the countless hours I spent inventing crash scenarios (along with Evel) and pushing the limits (elevated collisions between bedroom furniture) of Smash Up Derby!

Uh...that's a Deluxe Magna Doodle. Not an Etch-A-Sketch.

^^ Haha! There's actually some truth to that too!… my Aunt Kim had Fashion Plates (or something similar) and I kinda remember coloring those with her.

…you just can't sneak anything by the toys-fiends around here!

I can tell you right now, I knew two girls my age that asked for the "mighty men and monster maker" and got "fashion plates" much to their chagrin.

Something seems off with that sister(?)'s vacant smile as her brother(?) paints a mask on her. Like he's preparing her to head out and kill, kill again.

I have to admit I also would have preferred the Monster Maker over Fashion Plates.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
