Marvel seems to be opening the flood gates now for character movies. Anyone is possible. I’m still holding out for a Parafino wax museum movie.

Marvel and Sony made up and decided to treat the Spider-Man movies like the Marvel TV series, there connected but the main MCU will not focus on them (at least not yet).

^Because he's a well-known PITA. He's been offered almost every major role mainly due to his elusiveness, not because he fit the part. He turned everything down. Studios really thought he had some major female following thanks to 30 Seconds to Mars.

That's a weird game I learned about in the 90's; producers doing things just to flaunt it. My favorite example is 2002 Hulk, where Arad gave it to Ang Lee, even though Ang wanted to direct FF, and Gale Anne Hurd wanted ILM to make a fully CGI Hulk, even though Winston, etc...told her it needed to be a person tweaked by VFX.

I wonder if this Sony/Marvel cooperation will be more like Spiderman or Venom. I love Tom Hardy but I was not a huge fan of Venom.

There are enough Spider-Man family to support there own movies. Morbius & Venom became anti-heroes in the comic books so I can see why Sony went with them. They need to get started releasing the other heroes if they want to bring in money.
