    RIP Neil Peart

I am just so devastated by this news. Goddamn cancer. Neil died from brain cancer which he privately battled over the last 3 and half years.

Greatest drummer who ever lived. I got to see RUSH live several times. Lifelong fan. It's just so sad. He is reunited with his wife and daughter now. RIP!

    This one hurts.

I really admired Neil for finding his way back after losing his daughter and first wife. That had to have been a miserable road to walk, but he did it and made it to the other side. Thought it was great that he remarried and had another daughter. Now, I have to wonder what kind of ride it was for him the last three years knowing he was going to leave them behind. I hope they got to say all they had to say to each other during those last years.

Arguably my all time favorite drummer. I even posted this on my Facebook Timeline.

      What a crying shame...

Brainy, with a literary quality. One of the reasons I always liked Rush (and Iron Maiden, for the same reason). You better be a reader or be willing to be one. That's a noble thing to impart to listeners, if you ask me.

A few years ago a friend of mine was in a band that played RUSH songs, I never got to see RUSH live, but I have their CDs and all I can say is the music world lost perhaps the greatest drummer of all time.

Rush was my first concert in 1985 and I saw them several more times. Sad news indeed.

Got to see him live when the Power Windows Tour hit L.A. Guy was amazing.

Horrible news. I had no idea he was even ill.

For the past couple of weeks, I've played nothing but RUSH.

                        Been a fan since I was 12 years old. I'm 55 now.

                        Damn.

like his life, he kept his illness very private and quiet. it was 3 days before they even announced he had passed

The Chiefs' game on CBS played the intro for "Limelight" going into commercial and I noticed FOX did the same thing for the Green Bay game. Gotta be a nod to Rush with the passing of Neil Peart. Freakin nice thing to do.

I am still shocked and saddened. RUSH has been my favorite band since Moving Pictures was released. I have seen them more times than I can count and was very upset when they announced they were done touring. The reasons given were Neil's tendonitis, family, etc. However, I am guessing this was the real reason.
