Anybody like doing home improvemetn projects?

i actually find it relaxing, in spite of all the f-bombs you might here coming from whatever room I am working in. here is my current project I have been doing over the weekend. we were tired of the carpet being stained in a high traffic room so I ripped it out and am putting down ceramic tile, that looks like wood. this project has forced me to face a painful self truth though, I am not a young man anymore. this morning, the second day of this project, I almost couldn't get up, and when I did I was so off balance I almost fell over. getting old sucks, LOL

Looking good. And I know what you mean. I moved some rock today and I’m feeling it.
    Fresh, not from concentrate.

I tell people all the time if you are overweight see aside some days for landscaping or doing yard work. Working out in the sun will peel away the pounds just make sure you don't give yourself a heart attack in the process.

Looks great and yeah getting old and doing real work is not a good combo. I am close to 50 and was out doing series yard work and pulled tendons in my arm. That was the end of that, paid somebody to clear off the land after that.

Hah, one of the joys of home ownership!… my wife and I recently bought, hauled, moved and carefully placed over 4000lbs of rocks ranging from small river rocks to 450lb boulders. This is the type of works that reminds you of your small inconsequential place in the universe.

If I owned my own home i'd want to put in a secret bomb shelter …. No, im not a survivalist.. but some do look fun

I would sink it in the yard and make a secret tunnel from my basement to it. .. Maybe also have a getaway hatch above

I heard of people doing that with septic tanks (unused and new, I hope)

a septic tank is really not that big. I have seen gasoline tanks used, on TV at least. never seen one in real life

and done. took me 4 days because I have realized over the years, that over doing things is never good for my health. I only work about 4 hours a day, and split that into 2 shifts. quite happy with how it came out

That looks awesome! I recently built a 16'x20' film darkroom down in my basement. Did all of the framing, wiring, plumbing and finishing myself. The only thing I didn't do was hang the drywall. I have a buddy who does that for a living and I am glad I let him do that.
