Lanard Toys Colonial Marines v Aliens.

Lanard toys have been really upping their game. We know they been recently getting into licensing with properties like Rampage and Jumanji. But a top tier license like Aliens seems like a game changer for the company.

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Wow, those look like a lot of fun. Actual toys, and not just nice-looking, but highly breakable "adult collectibles". Of course still based on R-rated movies, just like in 1979.

Meanwhile, Hasbro continues to sit on their hands and not give us any G.I. Joe. Geez.

From what I've read there will be Gi Joe toys in 2020. At the very least some to tie in with the Snake Eyes movie coming October 2020.

I did a survey as part of the Hasbro Action Insiders group recently which was asking what fans' favourite RAH characters and vehicles were and what collectors would be looking for in new G.I. Joe toys, so they're definitely planning something.

I believe what killed the gi joe line at retail they focused too much on the movies at the time. So I'm very looking forward to new gi joe toys by this time next year hopefully. Anyway I like the very basic old school approach to these Aliens toys. Toys for kids to play with how about that?

These look great. They also really capture the aesthetic for R-rated movies that have entirely too kid-friendly toys and/or cartoons (like Robocop, Rambo, Toxic Avenger, etc.)

Definitely. The movie lines killed GI Joe at retail. The first movie especially. It was way over produced.

that and they really bungled the 50th anniversary big time.

What killed the retail G.I. Joe figures were the Movie sequal with The Rock. They had to recall all the figures because they moved the movie to avoid Channing Tatum other movie Magic Mike. Hasbro offered to a buy back to all retailers so most of the stores pulled them and sent them back only to get them again later in the year. Another problem was the marketing on the card art. It stated that Roadblock (The Rock) was now the training officer of the Ninja school or something like that, it was just laughable to the collectors. Those toys sat on the shelves due to second chance while most collectors bought them when they first came out or on ebay at high dollar prices during the recall.

Looks like Smyths toys is the original source of these Larnard Aliens toys images. They also have a pic of a large purple Alien Queen.

There's new pics surfacing of an APC Tank and Power Loader sets. The APC looks small but fairly screen accurate. The Power Loader isn't as accurate and might be a repaint from an earlier CORPS set.

                            Showing up on shelves

Wow I was in for a treat tonight at Walmart, the Lanard Colonial Space Marines vs Aliens and under $10. I did not see the Queen but did see the three 2-packs. I only picked up the egg/facehugger tonight to open and check them out. These are located in the toy isle where the action figures are.
