I'm guessing that the cancellation of the television show had something to do with it. Perhaps sales were declining enough at that point to make the cancellation of the line a smart move for them?

Mego's initial 1976 Toyfair ads featured never before seen Ape artwork:

Now this would have likely had to have gone to the publisher in December, so in between that time and the 1976 Toyfair, apes were off the menu. I'd love to know what was in store.

^^ There are some concept drawings out there that feature unreleased POTA toys and models dated between 74 and 76. I'll dig through my pics… I kinda remember one with a Mego citation in the illustrators notes.

That would be interesting, most of the HMS blueprints seemed to be Addar related. I picked up some Mego stuff from them but nothing that cool.

Darn!, found some of the HMS pics but must not have saved the others. I recall it looked like a design for a part/segment of a playset and included a couple figures in a smaller (4"?) scale. That came through Ebay in a fast and pricey auction in the past 2-3 years… maybe some here snagged it? If so, please share for the greater simian good!

                This sounds familiar.

Nubia for me. FTC needs to release Nubia in their Wonder Woman line.

I would say yes, if they used the original WW Supergals head. They use the Supergirl gead for WW, which bugs me, and I'd hate to see one of their newer sculpts used , as the girl sculpts are horrrrrrrrrrrrrrrible
