I'm looking forward to this. The 2006 British adaptation, with Marc Stevens and David Suchet, was lousy.

I like the Jourdan version quite a bit.

There's a release issue BBC hasn't resolved. As of now, it looks like BBC and Netflix International get it before we do on PBS. But I'm sure PBS isn't happy about that as piracy is going to be nuts while Netflix will want sole distribution.

The first episode was pretty good... Gatiss and Moffat have put an interesting spin on the classic story.
(Dracula has some wicked one-liners in this version.)

The Jourdan version was a bit boring for me; he just didn’t have that sense of underlying menace that some of the other actors had.

First episode was leaked on torrent sites ( and some streaming apps)
but I passed and am waiting so I can binge the first four on Netflix before I go to work tomorrow!

Not me. And vampires are usually sexual opportunists that bite anything with two legs and red blood. Gender is kind of secondary.

It sounds like there is an implied connection between Dracula and Jonathan Harker that some interpret as the character being bisexual. But Moffat pretty much dismissed it. He made some quip about how Dracula was "bi-homicidal." And how "He is killing them, not dating them."
