I am glad to see folks excited about this. Personally, I cannot imagine the flaws of this movie can be solved by giving us *more* of it...

Remember Close encounters of the third kind special edition from 1980? This isn't exactly a new thing.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

        Great example!

Thinking back, I am frankly dumbfounded as to why the Salkinds didn't release the longer cuts of Superman: The Movie and Superman II in a similar fashion back in the day.

I don't remember where I read it online, but there is a rumor that the released version of Rise of Skywalker is more Disney's cut of the film than Abrams.

I watched Star Wars Explained on YouTube today. They said there is no such thing as "The Abrams Cut."

Just got an email from the local theatre, there is a "See it again for $5" promotion going on right now.

It's gone from my local multiplex after January 30th. I thought it would have stayed around a bit longer. I know movies don't hang around in theaters like they use to but this is only roughly a month at a first run theater. It could just be that everyone in the area has seen it enough times but The Last Jedi stayed longer and the new Jumanji movie is staying here.

Wow, I’m eating crow right now.

Just saw Rise of Skywalker last night. Rented it through Amazon Prime.

Look at my past posts regarding Disney’s Star Wars. Been a hater for a while. I hated The Last Jedi, I thought it was garbage.

But man, I loved Rise of Skywalker, lol.

                      Let me have it...

The fact that the Blu-ray didn't include any deleted scenes has further fuelled rumours that an extended cut of the movie might be released on disc sometime in 2021.

it was a fun movie. sometimes derivative but I enjoy it too. they finally fleshed out Finn and Poe from the one dimensional characters they were in FA and TLJ. it was fun seeing Lando back in action and they gave 3PO a good arc in this one

I liked it as well and wanted to see it in the theater again but a chance didn't open up. I want to see it again for sure.

Well, I'm not impartial (I love all Star Wars). But I'm sure glad you enjoyed it.

I think it's a very sweet and heartfelt movie. The action is solid. The chemistry is back. And C-3PO gets his due.

I cry tears of joy when I watch it.
