Kooky Spooks unmasked a winner in 1979

I have no personal memory of Kooky Spooks and I'd like to think I'd remember seeing a kid with a pool toy on his head. Any happy memories?

I was an infant in 80. But it was a different time, man.

This sparks zero memories for me. Like you could tell me tomorrow this was a photoshop fake you threw together and it would make more sense lol.

I remember seeing them maybe one, two Halloweens, then they disappeared. I thought they were pretty weird, and had no interest. To me the appeal of Halloween was becoming a character, not just randomly decorating yourself. I was a very selective kid!

Like Chris, I can recall seeing a handful of these on one or two Halloweens. I was 5 in 1979 and remember thinking: what the heck is that!?

I remember seeing the display in stores. But I don't remember seeing any kids actually wearing the costumes.

I remember them, but can't remember if it was in a store or on a person in the wild. But thank the spirits they came by just in time to rescue the "dormant Halloween costume industry."

Sold out everywhere they were PROPERLY displayed... that's some nice parsing of language.

Don't remember these. '79 and '80 I saw more sci fi stuff than this.

I have zero recollection of these things.
And I would have been about 12 at this time, so I think I would remember if I had seen them.

I was at Five Below last night and they have the bat headpiece for sale by itself. Maybe not an exact match but it is pretty close.
