    Monopoly...Love it or Hate it

The game Monopoly is a great game if:
You want to find a reason to stop talking to all of your relative's

    1. Have you ever been involved in a Monopoly Feud ??

    2. What tolken do you choose ?

    3. What property do you gun for ?
    (I know different world boards)

    4. Do you Cheat...?

    5. Do you use your own rules ?

Monopoly rules. My family is well aware of my level of competition. I used to get a lot of flack when my kids were younger, cuz I would play them and beat them. Chutes and Ladders, Old Maid, Pokemon, didn't really matter what it was. I go by the fact, nothing in this world is given to you. If you want it go get it. I think Monopoly relays the message better, because even though it's fake $$, in the game you look at it differently, like it was real $$. By the time they were 10 or 11, they would beat me half the time sometimes more. They would beat their friends all the time. When one son got into Poker, I taught him the same way. There are no friends at the table. The money from a person you've known forever is just as good as the $$ from someone you've never met. Any one that has been successful at Poker has taken $$ from someone they knew. It's just the way the game is played. Monopoly is the same way. If you're not gonna play to win, why play? I like to stockpile middle range properties early. Build em up fast, kinda slumlord style and never let the others get enough $$ to develop the expensive properties. I'm always the dog. He's cute, so people underestimate him,( you can see I've put thought into this can't you, now that's sick isn't it?) He can do tricks like stand on his head and pee on the other tokens when you land in the same square. I get upset about losing at anything, Monopoly included. Being outbid on ebay, losing lottery scratch tickets, etc. Never let a game affect how you look at another person, much less a family member. Even I have limitations to how seriously I take things. I usually get over it and stop hating them in a few hours.

LMAO!! dude you remind me of me when I'm playing,I'm really competitive in anything I play, especially sports.

Funny thing is that I was playing singstar and Guitar hero with my niece and I would just beat the hell out of her in the game and my wife was getting upset at me.I love my niece to death but she's super spoiled, and I told my wife. She can't just get everything she wants when she wants it.If she wants to win she's going to have to earn it and beat me.So I even asked her, would you want me to let you win? she said no and finally did beat me in one song

My best friend and I used to play marathon games of monopoly.
Our games were nothing short of cut throat. One of our tricks was to take our money and hide it so we did not know the others cash reserves.

When I moved 10 years ago, I moved my dresser and found a huge stash of monopoly money one of use has squirreled away during a game. It was a huge laugh for me to find that.

Think B.A. Where did you hide the Megos?

I love Monopoly and have been playing the game since the age of 5 or 6! I know all the book-rules by heart, but we also have House Rules that my Mom invented or inherited from her childhood, which in turn I've modified. So we can play either by the book or by the House. Some House Rules are:

    * $500 in the middle goes to the player that lands on Free Parking!
    * $400 to the player who lands on Go!
    * Extra money at the start: basically double everything. This allows for a longer game and more competetive buying of properties!

    To answer monkey tennis' questions:

    1. Yes, when I was younger, but I've pretty much gotten over that kind of thing now. My brother-in-law (= sister's husband) and I used to get really mad at each other when we didn't follow the book rules; he hated House Rules and would not abide by them! Now I see it's just for fun and nothing to get worked up over.

    2. I'm a big fan of the Polo Horse and the Top Hat, but really I like 'em all, except maybe the Thimble! My Mom still has a couple of old wooden tokens from the 1950s that she uses when we play.

    3. Here's the best property ownership on the board: From St. Charles Place to New York Avenue. The Purples and the Oranges. People land on those properties more than any other property on the board! Own all six of those with hotels, plus maybe the railroad in the middle, and you've just won the game!

    4. I used to cheat when I was a kid! At the end of every game my sister and I would confess how much $ we stole from the bank when the other wasn't looking! Now, to be honest, I'm so good at the game I feel it's compromising my talents to steal or cheat!!

    5. See above for House Rules.

I love Monopoly! Who wants to play????

Man is my wife's family gonna be upset when they find out I'm not the only one beatin up on younger family members at games!! They think I'm evil!! They might be right!! My kid won $46 playing Poker the other night from his friends. I guess it pays off in the long run.

    1.)Yes when I was a kid.Not anymore...LOL
2.)not really I'll play anything except the boat
3.)From St. Charles Place to New York Avenue. The magenta and the Oranges. People land on those properties more than any other property on the board! Own all six of those with hotels, plus maybe the railroad in the middle, and you've just won the game!
I totally agree as this is my strategy as well I also go for the pale blue ones just before jail.I find it a utter obliteration to own these nine and nothing else.
4.)No,never I hate cheating..See #3 follow this and you will not need to cheat.
    5.)House rules yes.
    $400 for landing on Go,
$500 on free parking as well as all taxes or bills go into centre.
Double cash to start game and buying during first round...
