NYCC: Playmobil Scooby Doo and Back to the Future.

The Delorean looks great. Playmobil always does amazing vehicles.

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

When did Playmobil start doing licensed figures? I remember a few recent collector items (Willy Wonka and... Doctor Who, maybe?) but I didn't think they did much licensed stuff...

I had a few Western Themed Playmobil sets when they first came out and always thought they were so cool to be so simple. Made for good play. This stuff is phenomenal, yet the figures remain fairly simple and largely like what I remember as a kid. And I mean that as a high compliment to Playmobil.

Do these come in a packaged set or are they individual "grab bag" packaging where you don't know what figure you are buying?

Yes, unfortunately, they are blind bags. There are some people in the Scooby Doo facebook group who say they have different numerical codes on the back over the UPC which will tell them what's inside.
I got lucky. The Walmart store I went to had a fully stocked case, so I just looked at the codes on the back and grabbed one of each, careful not to buy 2 bags that had the same code.

Thanks for the info. Are any Playmobil/Scooby playsets out yet like the Mystery Machine?

These are cool. I was always more of a Playmobil fan than Lego.

^I saw the entire line at Wal-Mart yesterday. The blind bag villains, Scooby and Shaggy with Ghost, and Mystery Machine with Fred, Velma and Daphne. My daughter, who has kind of grown out of most Scooby purchases, was very tempted.
