I’m surprised they even let them play. I understand Belushi pushed to get them on. I read that he even brought in a "real" punk audience to to make the performance more authentic. Lorne Michaels banned so many acts over the years for so much less. Elvis Costello got banned for playing a different song than the one agreed upon. The Beastie Boys did a wonderful homage by having Elvis break into their SNL appearance the same way hes did and then breaking into the song which got him banned (Radio, Radio). My head would’ve exploded if they had gone into a Fear song ��
