You've got a pre-built backdrop like Trek, but written in soap operatic form so the storyline complications are built from the characters, not the plot devices. That will make it much easier for younger viewers to buy into the concept.
Excellently stated. I think that's why the original series clicked so well with the audience (especially the episodes from 1967-1969) and the resurrection series fell flat.

Now if Mego would work up a deal to include Dark Shadows in there lineup it would fit in there Monsters & TV Legends.

Not sure how I missed this back in November, but the show has been dropped by CW. A pilot was written but it was never even shot:

I think DS would be perfect for a prestige streaming show, on Netflix or Amazon or something. I would rather it find a home there, rather than be all "CW-ed" up.

I agree. The CW stamp was one of my early concerns as well. I just hope there's a service out there willing to take on the risk/challenge.

Until then, thankfully, the original is still alive and well. I started my most recent re-watch in July and I'm already to episode 988, I think this is the most dedicated watch through I've done so far. I've skipped nothing, and have enjoyed every minute of it. It's one of the silver linings of my knee injury recovery and the C-19 lock down. A total and complete escape from reality.

I honestly would rather the property just be left alone for the time being. Hollywood is in no state to do the series or the characters justice. They’re at historical lows in terms of creativity. Shows like Cobra Kai are very far and few between.

That said, I’ve beaten this horse to death, but YES, count me in for Mego doing a Dark Shadows line. They’re just leaving money on the table.
