    Better than Mego

What ReMego figures, in your opinion, are Better than Mego?

I know, this can be a controversial topic. But your answer can be a figure Mego never did, something that improved on Mego, or even a custom that used non Mego parts to improve the original Mego design.

This weekend I picked up FTC's 7" Robin figure, and I feel it improves on Mego's offerings in every way. The face sculpt is very Neal Adams. And it actually LOOKS like Robin in the Silver and Bronze age. The tunic is far better than Mego's efforts, and the cape has wires in it for poseability. Finally, he has the molded gloves the other Titans had, which look way better than the mitts.

This is the Robin Mego SHOULD have made when they released the Titans. Mego absolutely improved their figures throughout the line, but I'm not sure how much of that was just necessity due to material costs, and how much of it was out of a genuine desire to deliver a better product, but this Robin is he Robin we deserve.

All of that, and it doesn't look out of place hext to genuine Megos. Say what you will about early FTC, but they actually DID improve, and while I still think they're waaaaay too expensive, they do deliver a quality figure. Fortunately, I only paid $10 for ol' Dick here.

      Hehe Many apologies.

Mego is still the best. But it is possible to improve on perfection.

Hehe. I think Brian was just pulling my leg. Or I thought so until a box full of rags, and a flail arrived on my porch, with a note telling me I had to walk the earth flagellating myself in repentance.

The obvious one is the Gorn, otherwise...

              * EMCE/DST Spidey and Cap are near perfect

              * BBP Ming is light years better than the 9 inch original

              * Retro Action Luthor is better than the crap movie one

I have to say the Batman 66 is way beyond the Mego Batman. I think you need both.

I like shorter Robin too, But only for the scale reason. What figures I really Liked was Mattel's Retro-Action Wonder Woman and Cheeta. Even though the hips were floppy messes, The figures look great. The upper body joint was awesome making the figures poses more dynamic. When it comes to making customs I wish someone would reproduce bodies like the Mattel Female body. There are just too many issues with the classic Mego Barrel body female action figure IMHO.

Aha! But Mego did put that figure out in their new offerings, so that figure is Mego, and thus cannot be "better than Mego"!

I guess I would also have to say, the 66 Batman line, Batman-Robin-Joker-Penguin-Riddler-Catwoman, Bruce and Dick
but to be fair, Mego didn't make them to coincide with the tv show like FTC did, Mego made them copied from the animated
                      show and the comics.

Bif bang pow did a good job on the twilight zone gremlin and their Lucifer and Bigfoot were really good.ftc did a good job on their Hanna Barbera figures. every company has its hits and misses .some are better then Mego some are not.

Hard to compare, especially with the nostalgia factor, but I do love the EMCE Universals with all my heart.
From the new stuff, Re-Mego Nosferatu just blew me away.
But to me, honestly, it is all one big happy family.
