    Heroes World Bag

Damien shared me this vintage shopping bag from Heroe's World, it's not for sale, I checked. Like a lot of kids, I dreamed of visiting one of their stores and never did so this little piece of memorabilia is so cool to see.

I didn't know they had stores. I thought it was just mail-order. That would have been very cool to visit!

They may have been one of the first pop culture stores that most successful comic book shops today have evolved into.

The Museum has a cool article on them (of course) in the Library section-

I ordered my Mego Falcon from a HW comics ad. I would have loved to visit a store!

Christmas and Heroes World go hand in hand to me. They made a few of my Christmases very special.

I THINK my podcasting partner Rob Kelly actually frequented Heroes World stores, as I recall. I will ask him on our next call!

So there were either 7 or 8 stores. W in New York the rest in New Jersey. Their warehouse was located in Randolph NJ. I grew up going ro the one at the Woodbridge NJ mall. Great memories, only place I ever saw the teen titans in the shelf! Actually got a chance to work there from 1989- 1995. Great times!!

              For the love of Mego's
