From Aurora to AHI and back again...

It's no secret AHI famously "borrowed" the Aurora model kit head sculpts for their 8" monster figures.

I thought it would be cool to take what AHI did and reverse it, replicating the AHI look on an original Aurora Frankenstein.

I began by painting the head flesh color first, then applying the green over it to look like a painted vinyl head. I recreated the factory paint,
blue eyeshadow and all. Finally I did a faint color "rub" on the high points of the face to simulate paint wear, allowing the flesh color to show through.

All the Aurora monsters will be getting the AHI treatment!

That looks amazing. Of all the Franky figures, AHI's is my favorite.

I've seen a lot of really impressive screen accurate painted Auroras but I will always prefer them painted in retro toy colors like this. Very well done.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Perfect--I want to see these on figures, not models lol. Maybe NuMego fodder?
