A trio of SARKS...

I recently discovered a previously unknown variant of the original TOMY Tron figures...

First issue figures of Tron, Flynn, and Sark all came with identity discs that have no peg on the reverse to store the disc on the figure's back.

I purchased all three brand new on the card and opened them, and all three have pegless identity discs.

From left to right...1st issue TOMY, 2nd issue TOMY, reissue NECA. It's also worth noting the TOMY figures are much brighter than the NECA version.

Glad mine had the peg. That would've driven me nuts as a kid, considering there are holes in the back for the disc, and that was a cool feature as seen in the film.

That's odd. My Tomy figures all have discs w/ pegs. Since first and second release figures have the hole for the discs, could it be that the first release was pushed out prematurely, before the discs got their pegs?
