Archie Fans...Betty or Veronica?

Been buying older Archie Comics and Archie related comics and enjoy the comedy of the books. Basically like old Henny Youngman one liners. Covers are a whole story unto themselves. All I have to say on that subject is that parents were led to believe that Archie's were innocent books to read...Nope. Some covers should most definitely not have been able to get by the Comics Code and yet they did. But that's another thread to discuss.

If you were Archie and had to choose between them who would you pick? Betty or Veronica?

I would have definitely picked Betty. Veronica was high maintenance in my opinion. Too self absorbed.

I'd have to go with Veronica, mainly because I'm more of a brunette guy.

They basically looked alike, except one was blonde and the other was a brunette. However, their personalities were totally different. Veronica was shallow and demanding, so I'd go with Betty. My favorite Archie artist was Dan DeCarlo, so I primarily collect 1960s and 1970s Archie comics.

Cheryl from the comic book? Sure, why not. I've never watched the TV series...but that girl in the pic is nowhere near the way she was drawn in the book. And probably doesn't have the attitude of the comic book version of the character. Reading some of those stories in the comic book...I could see what Archie's writers/publishers were trying to go away from her being in the book after the 1st year. It definitely tilted the book away from some of the more wholesome aspects of the book. Surprised some of it got through the comics code.

In the show she is the heir to the Blossom maple syrup company and is your typical rich, entitled, popular cheerleader. She had a thing for Archie in the first season but dates Toni in the third season.
