Your old teen years summer jobs

Was reminiscing about some of my old teen summer jobs including ..

Unloaded, carried and laid sod for 2 years (was literally backbreaking)

Was an elementary school's janitor's helper when school was on summer vacation (was through a gov program)

Worked for a trucker hand cleaning 55 gallons drums (brutal)

Various yardwork at a commercial greenhouse (nice)

+ a few more shorter lasting ones …

    How about you ?

I worked all through my teen years, not just summer. started with paper routes and then started in the food industry, ended up at Kmart for about 8 months and then Hess Gas Station for about 8 years through High School and College.

Funny, the mall stores post had me thinking about my teen jobs... and there were many, several at the same time-

-waited tables at Knight of Columbus Hall Bingo (when I was 13)
-dishwasher at Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor
-sales at the Gap, John Wanamaker's & Strawbridge & Clothier (Philly dept stores)
-painted lines for the Highway Dept
-cut grass at municipal parks for Middletown Twp near Philly.
-tended rides and then worked the cash offices at Sesame Place Amusement Park (even got to be Cookie Monster for a day)
-made copies for people at Kinko's (rough summer- 9-3 internship, 4-12 Kinko's, weekends at a Dept store and test subject once a week)
-test subject for product studies near University of Pennsylvania (never got super powers)

worked from 13-15 throwing newspapers at an apartment complex, then from 15-18 at Eu-Can Bowl bowling alley doing just about every job imaginable from cleaning up to repairing the pinsetters. I have often considered writing short stories about the crazy characters I met working both of those jobs.

Cut grass at Rhodes Furniture where my Mom worked. Once I turned 15 I worked at Durr Drug Co. unloading trucks and working in receiving. My Dad was Inventory Control Manager. I ended up working there off and on for almost 9 years.

14-15 Washing dishes in the kitchen of a British style pub. Cleaning up after a night of fish and chips orders was not fun. Nor was working in a hot kitchen in the middle of summer with no air conditioning.
15-20 Working as delivery boy, stock boy and kitchen cleaner a Tim Hortons (working at "Timmys" is a legal obligation of every Canadian teen )

I had a weekend job mowing and doing odd jobs for a dive shop for a year or two starting at age 15 when I got SCUBA certified.
Dad made me get a summer job at Winn-Dixie (grocery store chain in the southeast), that carried on after school started. I hated it, and hated most of my coworkers. I took a break in December, telling them my family was going on a trip (we weren't), and I never called back to be put back on the schedule. Did I mention I hated it?

A few months later (toward the end of my HS senior year) I started driving for Domino's. Did that on summers and other breaks all through college, and then full time for a while after that (but now we're out of the teen years).

Worked at Six Flags Great Adventure in Grounds/Janitorial. The stories I have from that time are amusing, heartbreaking and horrific.
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."
