I was too old to enjoy it when it first came out but I always thought (looking at the box) it was very weak for portraying what it is as a whole --- They should have put it on higher stilts and sculpted it more like the real thing... As it is, to me it looks like an old mall parking lot Fotomat

I understand the cost savings with the cardboard playsets, but imagine if they would have made this in in the style of the US and Canada issue Death Star. I remember saving my birthday money to buy that monster and it was worth every penny.

I never even knew that set existed until I was an adult collector. would have loved it though, as I did all of my SW toys

I remember going to Sears and picking up this with my Mom. The only reason I wanted it at the time was it had 4 figures that weren't available yet. It turned out to be fun to play with. I still have the figures, cardboard set, and instructions. I scanned the playset and my daughter and I have been Photoshopping out the wrinkles and creases. They are expensive. Probably because it's cardboard and not many survived.

Had the Sears Exclusive Cloud City playset and gave it away in the early 90s. It was wonderful and went well with the Slave One. I think the tiny version with the metal figures that came out in the 80s was even better. I think they were called Micro Machines.
If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.
