I am very pleased that I still have mine since I purchased them back in 1990. As soon as I bought them I put them away in huge box and opened up the box up maybe twice since 1990.

and Batman hasn't slowed down in popularity in those 30 years.(to me 1989 doesn't seem that long ago) gotta recall batman comics sales at one time were super dismal I think before Frank Miller came along.I remember getting excited for batman all black look I painted my SP figure black and a couple Hasbro COP vehicles too (which came out cool looking but regretted of course messing up my figure) and there were two versions of the Keaton Bruce Wayne.one the carded and anther in a purple shirt that came with a vehicle.

I actually have it, and it's really very nice. I think it was only released in a handful of countries. Until Figures Toys did a new Batman sculpt this was my go-to Mego-scale Batman.

I dig it too. Love that they lifted the Jerry Ordway art from the comic adaptation. But I bet Jerry didn't see a dime, which isn't good.

I still don't have one, but they do pop up every so often.

Bob the Goon.....his kick action was broken the minute i opened the card. Leg would not lock in place. Couldn't stand up. I got him on vacation, we didn't have target near us, so i couldn't return him. worst figure ever!

The 8" figure seemed to have two releases, one in Australia and the other in Europe. There is a gold card and a blue and red card but for the life of me, I can't find it.

                        I LOVE THAT BLUE/RED CARD ONE !!!

Between having the bubble the shape of the figure and the prominent blue/red color it screams unlicensed rack toy.

I always thought the gold one looked weird because of the vintage style figure plastered on a super-modern style card.

The Australian version (gold package) was released by Kid Biz (somehow affiliated with Toy Biz?) and the Belgian one (red and blue) was put out by Bikin, I believe.

I prefer the gold by a mile. I don't really care for Toy Biz's gold lame packaging, but that Jerry Ordway art makes it work!

I have a great deal of the '89 stuff. I was a 25 year old collector by then so simply bought it in stores at normal store prices and have had it all packed away ever since. The Mego-type red/blue carded one jumped out at me in maybe 1990 in what we would call a 'Sweet Shop/Newsagents' that had a rotating rack of cheap toys. I was surprised to see it and immediately grabbed some at maybe £1 each. I was thrilled that at last there was a clothed articulated 8 inch figure based on the Batman of the Keaton movie and to this day is a favourite of mine. Great to see others into the little guy too. The belt is surprisingly authentic to the movie design and the boots too so way more than a regular Batman figure but in a black outfit but still a little goofy and '70s Mego.

I like the bootleg Batman movie figures more than the licensed products.
