Mego Meet 2019 Exclusive: New Bandless 8" Male and Female Bodies

Because not everyone is on Twitter and this needs to be discussed...

The Mego Museum tweeted out that there are, "new male and female bodies for the 8 inch line, bandless and twenty POA."

    Male AND female!

No mention of what the 8 inch line is; a quick guess would be from Mego Corp.

I can't wait to see these. I feel like more recent Type S bodies have addressed the jutted out right hip issue and I love the screws so you can easily change heads, but I am curious to see what this new male body looks like and compares to the vintage Mego body. The new neck plug tempers my excitement a little because old neck plug heads will need to be altered.

But, bandless female bodies? FINALLY? The Mego female bodies are pretty good, if not short, so the construction of these will be interesting. I have not put a non-New Mego head on a new Mego female body, but I don't think that will be an issue. If these are nice, I will stock up on extras just to replace some of my bad FTC bodies. But the current new Mego bodies did not always end up being a better product after the swap.

Anyone, exciting news from Mego Meet 2019!

As long as they still look like vintage Mego than I’m happy. Curious to see these.

Good to see someone else going beyond rubberbands. Its time to evolve a bit. FTC would really be wise to follow suit.

Agreed. Hoping they have a muscular and lean option like a type1 torso with swivel biceps. FTC needs to go bandless for sure.

So, what are the extra 6 points of articulation? Most of the current Mego cards boast 14 points. My guess would be swivels at the elbows or biceps, knee and ankle swivels.

That would match the Type S body, which I think is good. I don't think Mego bodies need to have double jointed elbows and knees, like the Type S Upgrade kit.

It is indeed time for the figures to break out of rubber bands. But, I wonder how the people at KC Collectibles who took over the ZICA line in essence, will react to this?

As long as the new bodies have the proper neck post to receive classic and even FTC female heads, I will not quibble.

I just want a decent African American body. Tootie is too light skinned.

They won't be compatible with the old stuff.

Eh, I suspected as much. As long as they are sturdier than FTC, I don't mind.

They're pretty much a Type-S/Flatt variant sans balljoint neck. The female figure Joel held up was more heroic in build.

sounds like Wonder Woman will look good on that.
