This week we look at the merchandise made for the incredible 1975 Shaw Brothers masterpiece "Infra-Man" and talk about how we deserve way more than what is out there.

Always been a fan. It was my moniker in the tokusatsu newsgroups wa-ay back around 1999-2000. (Japanese spelling infuraman)

I brought up the topic there of an old GI-Joe/Henshin Cyborg-sized figure I saw in the ticket-window here in Hawaii back when I saw it on screen and someone confirmed their little brother owned one of these figures.
They described a huge toy store display of them! Edit1: ... in a Hong Kong toy department.
Since I was treating my friend to the movie, I couldn't afford to buy the "doll". They had been showing a lot of tokusatsu movies at the time, so as expected, on my next visit they were no where to be found.
Naturally I asked about it. The person in the booth stated they only had the few that the movie's distributors sent them. I have never come across any pictures of this toy since then.

This is the closest I got with a picture. This is a picture a seller used (I won the auction for this issue). I can confirm there are no pics of the Inframan doll in this issue of Hong Kong Toys '76.

As for the VCDs: There were many variants of the Kubrick-style figures. I've seen: Inframan (only), Inframan w/removable mask ("Rayma" head), Inframan+"Skull" Guard, Inframan+"Black"? Inframan.
Edit2: It seems the removable mask version may be the "Rayma" version I thought was an additional figure, but the other 2-figure pack is actually the "Skull" Guard set.

I saw it in the theatre when it came out. Not the big megaplex either, just a little 1 screen theatre in my neighborhood I could ride my bike to. That theatre is gone now.

I remember renting it back in the 80's after I rented all the Spectorman tapes
