James Doohan - D-Day Facts You Might Not Know

I'm probably sharing information that everybody knows, but I found this read about James Doohan's involvement in D-Day to be absolutely fascinating.

From War Hero to Radio Drama Voice Actor to the Chief Engineer... it reads like a life well lived. On this, the anniversary of D-Day, it's worth taking 3 minutes to read this article about the Man behind "Scotty"

He was a real hero 75 years ago today. That’s quite impressive.

He lived in Sarnia in the 1950s, my old next door neighbours the Hendersons were his neighbours and they were great friends. They had photos of them having BBQs and such, it was pretty neat.

He should’ve been the Captain of the Enterprise.

Wow, now that's impressive. I knew of some of this, but not all. The cigarette case story proves that old Hollywood cliche true.

Neighbors to Doohan's neighbors. You never fail to spring a new one on us, Brian!

I also met a guy once who showed me William Shatner's yearbook as his dad and him went to highschool. He said Shat's nickname was "toughie" because he considered himself a great fighter but most of his classmates didn't.
