    Kung Fu Target Set

I found this piece that I honestly didn't know existed, so it was a pretty big deal for me. As a lover of the TV show "Kung Fu", the merchandise is minimal and this set from Multiple Toys is something special.

The weird thing is, it's actually not licensed. Released just after the show was canceled, it's like Multiple just went ahead and produced the set anyway. It's clearly based on the series, look at the Caine on that artwork. Don't mind his weird arm.

Here is a shot of the Caine figure, it totally looks like the third season look although i'm not sure why he's on a horse.

Ya know...Stick Commissioner Gordon on the horse, replace the targets with Joker Riddler and the Penguin and put a Batsticker on the gun and you have the perfect Batman rack toy.

I can't get past that arm, I'm sorry! Did Caine drink some Gingold or was he exposed to cosmic rays on this quest?

I guess naming your show something so generic as "Kung Fu" opens you up to unlicensed product like this, doesn't it?

Still, this is all kinds of awesome. Besides the lunch box, what else is there in Kung Fun merchandise?

They did gum cards, a View-Master set, and in UK ongoing strip in the kid's comic LOOK-IN as well as annuals too. There was also the YUNG KUNG FU figure from Durham's although not licenced clearly meant to be the young Caine.

Always threw them away. Never rode horseback either.

Oddly enough, exactly nine years ago this very day, a mint in box MPC Kung Fu playset sold in the MEGO Museum forum marketplace for $20.00 shipped.

I still have the PM where I asked the seller if it was still available. It wasn't.

With a name like Multiple Toymakers, it almost lampshades the fact these sets are mostly ripoffs and repaints. "Where did those kung fu components come from?" "Multiple toymakers."
