They are going to make a Magic 8 Ball movie.

Yes, well, that's going to be a thing.

Mattel Films & Blumhouse Productions Partner To Bring 'Magic 8 Ball' To The Big Screen
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Actually, I can see potential with such a script, although the outlook is uncertain.

I take back what I said about the Dora the Explorer movie being near the bottom of the barrel. This tops it.

So I'm assuming the Rock, Elizabeth Banks and Jack Black?

It was low hanging fruit, and I am predictable.

Truthfully, I think it's a pretty fun catalyst for a story. It's a pop culture toy that everyone knows. Obviously it won't be two hours of people in a room shaking it, but it could be a fun "is it real magic or not?" story. The default reaction (on parts of the internet) is usually, "this will suck", but hey, let's see what can be done with it. Might be fun.

"A group of friends must confront their most terrifying fears when they awaken the dark powers of an ancient spirit board." - IMDB description of "Oujia."

I'm guessing they will use a similar summation from the movie "Ouija" and change "ancient spirit board" to "vintage spirit toy." Gather up some upcoming teen actors and you've got a late-summer horror release.

I knew when I saw the scene-stealing cameo in "Shazam!" that this would happen. I said, "That ball is going to get its own movie and soon!".

Now that I read it's a blumhouse horror, it actually feels better as a concept.

I see what you did there and totally approve.

Did you know that if you drink the liquid in a Magic 8 Ball you can see the future?

I saw it happen. My friend drank the mysterious blue liquid and then said "I think I'm going to die" and then he did.

                            Weird wild stuff.

Disney's Jungle Cruise may come close.
