As some of you know, my wife has been going through chemo for breast cancer. Next week is her final of 16 treatments and we needed to get a surgical plan of action today. After many months of pondering our options we've elected to go with a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction.
The option of using her own tissue for the recon is very complex and would likely be a 12 hour surgery all together since they do both concurrently. Plus the recovery time and risk of future hernias is pretty great. We are going the implant route. Surgery is set for the second week of July. At this point there's zero evidence the cancer is still present so things are looking up.
So, yeah the MegoMeet is sorely needed next weekend. A break from this stuff and work is overdue. Thanks to all who've sent fb messages and stayed in touch through this.
