RIP Paul Darrow/Kerr Avon Blake's 7

He died earlier today after a short illness. He was 78 years old.

I don't know how many Blake's 7 fans there are here, but I thought that he should get a mention.

We definitely need Blake's 7 Mego figures, even if it is not as big of a fandom as it was back in the 80's and 90's.

Someone here did a series of B7 customs and they were excellent!

Loved him as Avon !!!

He took a character similar to Doctor Smith (Lost in Space) and Mr Fitzhugh (Land of the Giants) and made him into an unlikely hero and lead of the show !!!

I only just began watching Blake's 7 and he is easily the most interesting character, mostly due to Darrow's performance. Thanks Paul!

Yeah, Blake's 7 Mego would be in my top five, easily.
Great characters, very dark at times, quite grim episodes at times.
My favorite ep was where Avon and Vila are in a crashing shuttle, they need to lose cargo to level it out, and Avon starts looking at Vila... briliant…
And the very last scene. Loved it.


Sad to hear he died. His wife died in 2012, and two years later he had to have both legs amputated. Someone mentioned this on an FB page. Wow, talk about a hard ending.
