yes!
a friend and I made a few in 2nd grade to impress our beautiful teacher that we were all in love with.
in sixth grade a few of us made our own out of pieces of oak tag. we would fold the sheets down like a road map.
one friend made his own characters and stories (the Spacelings) while I made Battlestar Galactica and eventually Steve Martin comics!
in my stories Mr. Martin was a comedian but he was also a crime fighting private eye with a roster of villains like the Junk Food Junkie, Crayonhead, mad Dr. Lorie and the Man With Baloney Breath. there was even a (mostly) full color crossover with KISS
I have most if not all of them somewhere but the last time I tried to look at the really old ones they were unfortunately made with some thicker, gold colored type of paper that had a tendency to crumble. the oak tag ones looked fine, esp the ones where I used magic markers.
