    Ultraman 1966

Just found episodes of this show in English on youtube and started watching.

Never seen or heard of the show before.

Man, the costumes are CRAZY BAD !!!

So far from what I've seen Ultraman is kind of a d_ck … He waits till the city is half destroyed and multiple people have died until he decides it's Ultraman time

I still kinda like it though ….. It's kinda like what Gerry Anderson might make with a 2 dollar budget

Was reading this show is actually a spinoff of another one --- I'll have to check that one out too.

BTW, is Ultraman related to Jet Jaguar ?

'66 was the only Ultraman series I saw in syndication as a kid. I didn't even know the series continued over the years. I loved this and what I was able to see from the "genre" (Johnny Socko, Space Giants).

I have to admit, it felt pretty slow when I watched again as an adult.

Well for one thing I don't remember ever being played on TV

Grew up in the New York City broadcasting area with channels CBS-2, NBC-4, WNEW (independent), ABC-7, WWOR (independent), WPIX (independent) and PBS-13

7 Channels throughout my youth and none of them ever played it from 1970-1985-ish

wow, we had it on a Chicago station and it was in FLA when I visited Grandma too. You'd think it was in NY too.

Yup, same here, my fellow Bay Area amigo, lol.

Big fan of Bob Wilkins, especially Creature Features. Bob Stanley was a fine successor as well.

                  Ah, the memories...

When I was growing up I think I saw an episode or two of Ultra, but the big one for me in my area of southern Indiana was Spectreman. We had just gotten WGN out of Chicago and TBS from Atlanta. I was captivated by Spectre and Star Blazers. I don't really have much memory of Ultraman except thinking he was a pale copy of my Spec.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

A lot of the costumes and sets in Ultraman were quite good for the time.

Check out Ultra Seven, the sequel, it's a lot of fun too. And then, there have been Ultra shows every couple of years since.

Alien intergalactic slavers called Magma come to Earth in an attempt to find more slaves for their expanding evil empire. In response, the Ultra Warriors send Leo to protect the planet from this new threat.
