"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life." -
I forgot to list my early influences. These are VERY early, as I can not remember a time when I didn't know of them:
Batman '66
Super Friends
Spider-Man '67
The Adventures of Superman
Shazam/Isis
Spider-Man on the Electric Company
Oddly enough I didn't see the 60s Filmation cartoons until the Super Powers VHS compilations hit in 1984. I saw the Sesame Street clips, and that was it. I did watch the 7os Batman series when it came around.Comment

TV for sure...Comic Books were a way to extend the TV Universe of Stories (for me)...though I was a Book Worm in School.
The tables started to flip around the age of 9 (for me) when the Books started to dominate over My TV viewing.Everyone is Entitled to MY Opinion...Your's, not so much!Comment

Well, as a baby, my mom went and watched Batman, in color, at a friend's house. I was there, but was I watching? We didn't watch a lot of tv at my house, so I'm sure that comics were the main introduction to superheroes. I had access to a lot of comics but not really a television.Comment

I think the images brought me in whether they were on TV, comics (I know I couldn’t read the comics, at first) or toys.

I am one of those I just cannot remember what sparked my interest. I was born in 1971 and my Mother was a school teacher/librarian so I was reading early at an early age. The earliest memory I recall about super-heroes was when I was in kindergarten I had The Bat Halloween costume (yeah nobody can tell me why I had The Bat instead of Batman). I remember watching reruns of Superman 55, Batman 66, and then Wonder Woman, Hulk, Spider-Man and Superfriends growing up, reading comic books and playing Megos at an early age.
So comic book Super-Heroes have been intertwined into my life and it is not going away by now.Visit my wiki site:

It was definitely TV for me. My earliest memories are of Looney Tunes and Superfriends. At some point early on, I realized there were also comics of those characters. Both were pretty early. The first word I learned to read was “Hulk”.Expectation is the death of discovery.Comment
