Anybody see The Wandering Earth ?

It's on Netflix but you can't find it browsing … You have to type in the title in the search

Started watching last night for about 15 minutes but got bored … I might come back to it

Dubbing is pretty lousy but 100 times better than reading subtitles

I’m watching it...half way through it.

Really fantastical. It’s a bit silly at times. But the special-effects/CGI are really top notch...it’s a visually stunning film.

    I’ll finish it later tonight.

I usually prefer original language and subtitles. But this movie is so visual, so many things happening at once...that I had to switch to dubbing in order to keep up...

It’s about our sun slowly turning into a red giant. Earth only has 300 years left of existence. All the governments of the world gather and spend 30 years building 10,000 massive thrust engines on one side of the planet...and propel it towards a 2000+ year long Alpha Centauri trip. Populations have depleted by half due to massive natural disasters from both sun and earth’s trajectory. Humans will live in underground cities for generations to come.

No spoilers...that’s how the movie starts...

Now the following is one mid-movie spoiler situation:

          ***SPOILERS***

But on their way there, they run into problems with Jupiter’s gravitational pull...

            Thanks for the review, Hec

I will watch the end now

I only heard of it yesterday in an article mentioning it's a Chinese movie and has the record of the biggest take in movies outside the United States but in the States it's relatively unknown

It looks like it will make an epic MST3K someday...
