Freddy rumor...

I heard today that Freddy is being discontinued and the figures shipping now are the last that will be available. Can anybody that uses Facebook confirm this? Has anybody else heard this rumor?

Yeah sounds like because of a licensing situation, they can’t sell Freddy past June.

Some of you may have heard rumblings that our new Freddy is a Limited Edition run, but haven’t seen pictures showing it to be a variant. The issue is a little more complicated than a limited production variant run. While there are a couple of small changes to our new Freddy, the reason this will become an extremely limited item is that the licensor (Warner Bros) is not allowing us to ship any more goods after June of this year. Though we don’t know the reason for sure, we believe that either the actor has pulled his likeness or they have lost the license. Again, we don’t know why...all we know is that this is Freddy’s last run within our licensing rights!

Thanks for posting that! I went to the wholesale site and saw that Freddy is sold in a case pack of 24. All the other horror figures come in case packs of six. I wonder what changes were made to the upcoming figure.

From what I understand, the new one has a brown glove instead of green and maybe the skin tone is a bit different. I’d heard the skin tone was different, but I couldn’t tell from the photos.

The license may have expired or the estate may have rejected the GID version (I've heard they are fussy from others) or quite possibly, they just wanted to do something different. It gives me another figure with a dimestore aesthetic, so I'm in love.

I like the idea of the glowing Drac with pointed ears. That will look spectacular in the dark! He also has his chest exposed, so more glowing...

It might just be the lighting of the picture, but the second hat looks blacker to me.

The second has blue eyes, can't tell on the first one.

It's hard to tell color and shade because of different lighting. I'm eager to get one in-hand to compare them. They should be available right before Mego Meet.
