I think the rumor is theatrical vocal track got "lost" after Lucas stopped dating the original vocalist and Lucasfilm sound engineer Annie M. Arbogast.

That's an interesting rumor... haven't heard that before. She is credited with the vocals on the album version too, so I wonder why one version would be excised since both have the same vocalist.

My theory, and it's just a theory, is that both the Lapti Nek film version and the Max Rebo music heard at the conclusion of the Boussch deal and on board the Sail Barge, were pulled for use in the From Star Wars to Jedi: The Making of a Saga documentary... and were never heard from again.

Michele Gruska is the album vocalist. Annie M. Arbogast is still credited because she wrote the lyrics.
