Love the part around 0:56 when Godzilla is rising from the sea … The deep music cues are very similar to Godzilla 1954/56

If this movie is as good as it looks they might have made it impossible for Godzilla vs Kong to top it.

Compared to this movie G vs K seems mediocre

            I'm kinda glad it's not

Shin was a GREAT Godzilla in a very poor movie, imo

This looks awesome! I hope it doesn't disappoint.

One question- I've always pronounced Ghidorah as GEE-doh-rah. I notice they say gee-DOR-ah in the trailer. Is this correct? Maybe both are incorrect as someone told me that there are no emphasized syllables in Japanese. I don't speak it so I have no idea if that's true. It feels unnatural to give each syllable equal weight, but that could just be an English-speaking bias.

Back in the day everyone I knew (including myself) called him Gee Dra

Seems the Gee-Door-Uh pronunciation started in the early 80's when Godzilla super-fans tried to sound cooler trying to pronounce the name more Japanese correct.

Same people refused to say Godzilla calling him Gojira instead.

It seems I recall first seeing the name in print (when i was an older kid) as "Ghidrah." Am I mis-remembering that?

API was the original stateside distributor. They renamed anything based on phonetics. When Toho rebooted in the 90s, they had control over translations for trademark ownership. That lead to remastered international dubs of the original series with correct pronunciations.

                        So Gojira/Godzilla. Mosura/Mothra. Ghidorah/Ghidrah. Radon/Rodan.

aka Monster Zero. I'll never really get used to the Americanized Godzilla, but this movie looks pretty good and worth checking out, but why are they calling it Godzilla King of the Monsters? it makes me think it's supposed to be a remake of the Raymond Burr 1956 version with no other monsters featured.

That's the 99,000 dollar question nobody seems to be able to answer.

It's like making a new Star Trek movie and calling it Star Trek: The Motion Picture

KOTM is to keep.the trademark, but for the story, 17 Titans/kaiju appear and it's a battle for supremacy. Ghidorah is known as Monster Zero because some info Monarch found said he was the destroyer of all others.

Then you have Godzilla KOTM v (King) Kong final chapter for marketing.
