PlaidStallions on the Creative Shift PodCast

Just in time for the site's 13th anniversary, I was honoured to be a guest on Dan Blank's Creative Shift Podcast recently, totally out of my comfort zone but also a really fun experience.
We talk about the history of the site, toy collecting, writing "Rack Toys" and blogging, it was a really enjoyable conversation.

    I hope you'll give it a listen.

I’ll have to listen, as well. Of course, I enjoy the subject matter. Along with that, I have really gotten into podcasts.

        That was so much fun!

Mall of Justice! I missed out on Rack Toys. I just procrastinated supposing it would be available when I got around to it. Was I ever wrong. I won’t hold off on Mall of Justice.

The mid 90’s Star Wars toys almost got me, as well. Fortunately, I fought the thing off.

As an aside, I’m quite familiar with those YouTube guitar shows and specific shops that Dan talks about. I’m into guitars, as well, and have been immersed in those for a handful of years.

Again, that was a great way to spend part of an evening, Brian. Thanks for sharing!

          This was a great listen!

What I think Dan really got from you is how pure much love there is behind all of this. The really enjoyable stuff out is usually created by people who mainly do it for love of the subject matter. Of course, we all like to get a certain validation from the work but sometimes I think if only 5 people went to Plaid Stallions, you'd still be churning out catalog pics with comments just to make yourself laugh.

(((P.S. any word on a new Pod Stallions ep?)))

it's not for lack of trying! Jason's dad passed recently and then our March episode (which included a tribute to him) was completely lost. It's been troublesome.

I'm really sorry to hear about Jason's dad. Let him know he's in the thoughts of a lot of his listeners.

Thanks for sharing. That was a very enjoyable listen. I think talking to an "outsider" about this stuff led the conversation in some interesting directions.
