Kang...that would work. Iron Lad as a reboot of Iron Man is easy money.

Only think I keep rethinking, is the importance Marvel is going to place on X-Men in that phase is going to be yuge. So do they go the "Namor is a mutant" route as a way to distinguish him from Aquaman?
Are the rights issues with Namor even cleared up yet or does Universal still have them? As of a year ago Feige said it was a complicated issue even though comics end was claiming Marvel Studios had the rights back. Universal's stake in the Hulk rights prevent Marvel Studios from doing a standalone Hulk movie though they can use the character, but I am not sure where the Namor rights stand currently. If Universal still holds them, you might not see Namor at all, mutant or otherwise.

Yeah, they have a similar deal with Namor as they did with Hulk. If Marvel produces a stand-alone movie, Universal gets international distribution rights or an overall percentage of the box office. If he's used as a secondary character in another project, Marvel is paying a license retainer with points. That's why you see his name attached to Strange 2 or Panther 2.

After Aquaman, I don't see Marvel throwing down for a Sub-Mariner franchise. AQ covered all the terrain: Ocean Master/Attuma, Black Manta/Orka, Mera/Dorma, Vulko/Vashti. The different races, Neptune,Half-Man Half-Atlantean, etc...

If they make him a proto-mutant it opens things up away from rooted classical mythology and more in-line with the Highlander motif they use for Asgardians/Eternals.

If Namor's in Strange 2 as Derricksen let slip, they have to be setting up a Defenders reunion.

Thor The Dark World was not one of the most popular MCU films (I liked it), but it turned out to be very significant to the Infinity War/End Game story.

Tom and I went to see ENDGAME for a second viewing Saturday night and, even though it DOES have a few warts (which I defy you to show me a movie that doesn’t), it was STILL a super-satisfactory way to wrap up the past eleven years of MCU movies. If anything, I laughed and cried more upon second viewing. Josh Brolin has my vote as perhaps best comic-book movie villain ever, Chris Evans does, indeed, possess America’s Arse and Robert Downey, Jr. is, and always will be, IRON MAN.
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

I went and saw it with 2/3rd of the family yesterday too. Not perfect, but damn near close, in my opinion. I don't know what more people could ask for from a film. Great character development, drama, callbacks, one of the best battle scenes ever filmed, and enough humor to keep it from getting morose and dark. They nailed it.

My biggest laugh, and I'm likely alone, was seeing Giant Man punch the Chitari shrimp/whale/lobster thing in the face. Just a great visual.

Otherwise, I read that most prefer IW and that's cool but I look at them as one continuous storyline and film broken in two parts. If you pieced them together they flow seamlessly from the last shot of Thanos resting to Hawkeye's family so to me a lot of the slower stuff at Endgame's beginning is actually the middle act of a long 5.5 hour film.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

I prefer Endgame only because the heroes WIN. At a price, sure, but they do win. I don't follow heroic fiction to constantly see the heroes lose and be both physically and morally defeated. Infinity War had to end the way it did to set up Endgame's epic triumph. It's just a notch below, but Endgame is on top for me.

And that Cap/Mljonir scene certainly didn't hurt!

My hope is now that they have put Thor into the GoTG franchise it will lead to serious cosmic shenanigans and...Beta Ray Bill.

Seeing Beta Ray Bill would be awesome. It does seem fitting that Thor would be in the Guardians of the Galaxy crew now. The Thor Ragnarok film completely took the same tone as the Guardians movies.

On another topic they hinted warlock a couple of times, but no Warlock. Also no Nova. Was it just too much to include those characters? Will you be seeing them soon in other films?

Is Endgame "Return of the Jedi" to Infinity War's "Empire Strikes Back"? I think it's difficult for any story to be the final satisfying act that ties up the climax and resolves the cliffhanger. It's almost more fun watching the build up, the introduction of the peril, and the cliffhanger.

I loved them both, but my initial feelings are, Infinity War will have more rewatchability for me.

I don't think so. ROTJ has that aura of rampant commercialism about it (Ewoks). This movie killed the Avengers most merchandisable hero. If anything, its' anti-Jedi. The quality didn't slip like ESB to ROTJ either.

I really do feel these are two chapters to the same story. Of course they were essentially filmed back to back so...

Not to take away from your larger point, but that does remind me... the Audi product placement in Endgame was pretty shameless...

Perhaps Star Wars was a bad comparison. It seems to be a lightning rod.

What I meant was that part 2 of a resolving storyline never seems as fun or memorable as the first part. It’s the wrap up, not the ramp up. I adored Endgame, but I think I was more giddy with Infinity War.

Probably the best known episode of Star Trek TNG is the Best of Both Worlds. Who could ever forget when Picard was abducted and assimilated at the end of Part One. But I’ll be darned if I can’t remember anything that happened in Part Two.

spoiler alert - Picard got rescued

I know what you mean though, the second parts often are a let down after the dramatic buildup of the first
