If I were from Krypton and landed on Earth...I’d probably be closer to Brightburn than Superman...

Good to hear! I don’t know if I’ll be able to catch it at the theater...but definitely a solid Redbox rental for me.

That's exactly why Superman is/should be special, the quintessential super-hero. But you already know that .

It's certainly a grim and creepy tale... with some very gory moments.

The older I get, the less I want to watch that stuff. IDK, it's not that I'm squeamish--I've seen some terrible things at work. I'm just tired of it, it seems mostly unneeded and lacking finesse.

question: is this a comic book movie?

                its source is not comics.

its definitely not a super "hero"

Its not Kal El, anti/alternate superman, or Else Worlds tale.

This probably would fit better in Sci Fi or monster category

The premise does remind me of Speeding Bullets where the spaceship lands in Gotham City and Kal El is raised by the Waynes until he sees them gunned down in front of him. That alien visitor wasn't quite as dark as this one but he was definitely less innocent than the traditional Superman story.

Its a thinly veiled Superman origin knockoff/ What If?/ Elseworlds how is it not a Superhero subject? Sure it goes off the rails and real dark but its still a spin on the most well known origin story in the world.
