There were a few moments in Captain Marvel that would have been a great place to sneak in some early FF references, but it was still too early for that, unfortunately.

One of my wildest fantasies comic-book movie fantasies is this: the final credits crawl finishes at the end of ENDGAME. Screen fades to black, but there is still a low, music playing. The numbers 1961 appear on the screen, then dissolve to an image of a sunset. We see four silhouetted figures walking towards a very Kirby-seque rocket sitting on a launch pad. The image fades, the screen fills with blue and the words “Phase 4 (with the “4” being the classic FF 4) Coming Soon”. Screen fades to black. Who better to launch Phase Four with than the Fantastic Four and, if what I’m hearing is true, that the events of ENDGAME basically reset the MCU, why not go back to 1963 where it all began?

Absolutely! My idea, posted here years ago elsewhere, is to do the FF origin in the '60s, with Reed as a polymath futurist with many patents to his credit. The FF discovers the Negative Zone and battles Annihilus (he's cool!), but in saving Earth, they are trapped there. When they are finally able to return, it is "now" due to a time warp and the FF is wealthy due to the investment of Reed's inventions. The film ends with Reed setting up a foundation in the Baxter Building and attracting the attention of Victor Von Doom, despot terrorist and rival technocrat, who threatens a covert attack on the United States, etc.

Would love to see the MCU reset as a period piece. be great if they rebooted them in publishing order. FF in 61, then Ant-Man, Hulk, Thor, and Spidey the next year and so on.
