A Little Help With Something I Remember From the 70’s

I was trying to decribe this performance group I remember from several variety shows back in the 70’s because I cannot remember their name. They were kind of creepy with clay masks on that they would pull and push and reshape during their performance. They didn’t speak (adding to their creepiness). They were like clay mimes. I think their name was either a non-English or even made up word.

    Anyone else remember these guys?

I remember the TV commercials advertising them on Broadway

I'd have never pulled that name from my memory, but I do remember seeing them on several TV appearances back in the day.

Interesting! I don’t recall them. I watched the video. The performance didn’t creep me out and it didn’t make me laugh. To me, the short performance was interesting, but I wouldn’t want to watch an entire show of it.

Yes! I remembered them as soon as I saw the preview from the clip! And they were on the Muppet Show, so that makes total sense. Yes, they were kind of creepy. I didn't get it, so it was unsettling

That episode was on MeTV a few weeks ago. Shields (he was the guy right?) shared some rather nasty opinions about Lynda Carter in a Back Issue article Andy Mangels wrote on the series over a decade ago. Seemed kind of sour grapes to me.
